Winter Wonderland

Lamar Valley - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

A lone Lamar Canyon wolf stands out against a foreground of frosty cottonwoods on an early winter morning. Once the pride of Yellowstone National Park, the Lamar Canyon pack has struggled since wolves were delisted in 2012. The lone male and two remaining females of the Lamar Canyon Pack are trying to re-establish their range, but it is yet unclear if they will succeed or if the east end of Yellowstone National Park's Lamar Valley will fall silent once more. 1976
